When there is fog in the valley, to whom comes from the access roads, still miles away, San Gimignano appears behind a suddenly sharp hairpin, clear in its monochromatic lines, as if suspended on the gray ripples. The color of the stone suggests its solid and dense roots in a remote history. When the clouds gather on the hillocks of the village, which form a black curtain behind them, the country stands out against it with a harsh sign. In certain sunsets instead the towers light up with intense pink colors to switch off when the twilight degrades.
